“Pray for My People Always”
Guide to pray for Israel during their trials and suffering
1) Israel’s Identity in God Alone
Please pray that, through this time of difficulty, Jews would discover that apart
God there is nothing that defines their identity as a nation: not tradition, not
shared persecution, not hope for a better future. Their relationship to God alone
defines their identity as a nation. (Ex. 6:7, Jer. 30:22)
2) Eyes to See and Ears to Hear
Please pray that the people of Israel’s ears would be unstopped and the eyes of
their hearts would be opened to see Yeshua, the One whom they have pierced.
(Eph. 1:18, Zech. 12:10, Rev. 1:7)
3) Freedom FROM Religion
Please pray that the shell of religion which has trapped people’s love for God
under generations of tradition will be cracked and that the people will discover
that there is no longer any need for it. (Jer. 31:33-34)
4) Ending Spiritual Exile
God returned His people to their homeland according to His promises, but their
hearts still remain in spiritual exile. Please pray that, through Israel’s present
trials, the hearts of many would return to the LORD in the revelation of Messiah
Yeshua, the source of living waters. (Jn. 7:37)
5) God’s Name Alone Glorified
Please pray that God would open the eyes of the nations to see His promises and
purposes fulfilled in what is happening in Israel and that they would give glory to
His name only. (Ez. 36:23, Matt. 25:31-46)
6) Offense
Many believers around the world, particularly the younger generation, are filled
with offense at Israel because of its war in Gaza: please pray that God would
grant many a divine revelation about His promises and purposes for Israel and
their role in God’s perfect redemptive plan for the world. (Matt. 24:10-14)
